how do i assign the 4 mono outs ? mpc 1000

It's all in the manual. You've got to do it in the mixer mode. If you have Akai OS. Pan left and right for mono use. If you've got JJ, you'll have mono outputs. Save the settings to a 'All' file or save 'entire memory'.
