Hi. I jsut started using my MPC1000 that I got about a month ago. I put JJ OS 2 on there etc. I like it so far, its cool. I've made a couple of funky little beats.

Heres my problem. When I would set the rec gain for sampling, I noticed something was wrong. As I would turn the knob, every now and then, either my left and/or right speaker would go stop playing the sample I had running (preparing to sample), and on the MPC screen, I noticed the volume level of that specific (right or left or both) level would drop completely.

How did I fix it? I just kept swivling the knob, and playing with it, and the speaker volume would come back. I thought it was maybe my cord connecting in to my mpc from my mixer, but it wasn't.

NOW, my Rec Gain knob won't even register. I turn it, and nothing!

What the hell?

I fear I will have to send it away to get it fixed?

Perhaps I can open this baby up myself and just replace something. I feel it's just a lose connection or something?

Thanks!

sounds like you need a new pot connection...

....

but seriously call up mpcstuff or vstservices and order a new potentiometer
or desolder your potentiometer, scan it next to a ruler, send the picture to Mouser livechat, get them to source your part, and order a couple spares

you'll need to do some soldering to fix it, regardless
