pads.....

firstly before the self appointed forum police pipe up, i have read over 60 pages of this forum (seriously, i have a boring job) and i have read all about the pads, how to change them etc. so dont bother telling me to rtff. i dont doubt the answer to my question is in there somewhere, i have either missed it or not got to it yet so either ignore me or preferably just grit your teeth and repeat it for me. shame you have to caveat each post like this, it would be a good forum otherwise.

right now thats out of the way, my question is as follows: ive seen all the diy methods of fixing your pads, tin foil and all that nonesense which frankly im not about to risk blowing myself or my mpc up, so is there like a proper kit you can buy from akai to just do a straight swap, bad pads out, good pads in?

i'm not a 1k user, but to me this pad business sounds Suss.
The Cynic in me reckons they struck a deal with VST service/MPC Stuff et al with regards to new pads.
They then generated the interest in the mpc world and staggered the supply to keep the value high on what is essentially rubber ?
After this they then split the profits on the agreed percentage and went and rolled a fat one

Good bit of business if thats the deal.... Bad if you suckered in and made the owners that little bit richer!!!

not just rubber --- an new sensor array (similar to all the other MPC's) a pcb, AND a sheet of rubber pads...



but you're definitely right --- total scam. well... half-arsed effort in the first place releasing a sub-standard
pad system.

A forum search would yield many results to an issue that's been far too redundant.
