PROBLEM, sampler playing samples at half speed

I play in a band and rely on our mpc to trigger certain samples in certain places in certain songs.
The last time i uploaded all the sounds onto the device, a couple of them decided to play at what sounded like half the speed they are supposed to. so as you can imagine this is ruining parts of songs. I cant understand why it is happening. The Ram is not full up (i bought that 256 MB thing that works as recommended on here for much less than the official one) and it has never done this in the past to us. Also I am yet to check, but it seems to be the same pad, on a couple of different programs that has this half-speed nonesense assigned.

Also i am pretty confident i have elimated it being the obvious things, but maybe i should mention that some of the pads have samples assigned, which are set to play at half speed. Perhaps this is confusing the other programs. But this surely if set properly should not be the cause of the problem.

Did you have to change the [tune] in any samples lately?

yes, on different programs tho. i changed two different samples respective tunings to 50 percent...

Before or after? And are you talking about [swing] cause off the top of my head OS 1 & OS 2 you can +/- to 25?

i changed the samples tunings then i noticed the problem. What is swing and why do you think this is happening.

are you using q-links to alter tuning?

sometimes the MPC will read these settings and apply them
to whatever program on whatever track currently displayed.


turn the q-links to OFF after using them when live...



also, which OS are you running?

your WAV files must not be 16bit 44.1khz... they're probably something different, causing them to play at a different speed... check your recording settings [where you're getting your samples from... not the recording settings on the mpc].

yeah it sounds like maybe he's got some at 48khz
