I just got an MPC 1000 off ebay, and I was wondering, how do I extend the sampling time? Right now the longest I can extend it to is 35 seconds, I have a 128 MB card, which I thought would be enough to be able to sample much longer...

so am I doin something wrong?? or do I just need a bigger memory card?? I wanna be able to lay down vocals into the MPC, whole verses which would probably run longer than one minute, so plz help me out......

The cf card is for storing your samples, sequences etc when your mpc is turned off, so you can load them back into the mpc when you turn it back on.
when you load these up you load them into the mpc's RAM

To extend the sample time you need more RAM. It fits into a slot locked away on the underside of your mpc. Theres a sticky at the of top this forum which gives you recommendations.

you'll probably need a mic pre-amp if you want to hook the mic directly into the mpc.

On the 1000 if you want to record audio you'll be better off with the JJOS.

As stated it is ram that you need. If you are in fact talking about your ram when you said you have a 128mb card, you needed a 256mb card to get more ram. The MPC will only show 128 installed with the 256..... I hope this helps.
