hitting pads?

i kno this is a silly question had my mp for quite a bit now, but i been tryin to go thru the whole manua to find out how to do this... basically, when i hit one pad over and over, it plays the whole sample over itself in a shadow sort of effect, i wanna know how to set up the mpc, so that when i hit a pad over and over, it cuts out the sample when its first been hit and plays it fully the second name.....if that makes any sense lol, if you can help, or work out what i mean lemme know guys.

Hey man, go into the program screen and select 'mono' for that pad instead of Poly and then the pad should cut itself off when struck a second time rather than overlapping each other. I think this is right...
