Step Edit Help

Can anyone tell me is it normal that when overdubbing/recording/inserting notes in step edit that the duration is always set to 24 (or 1 if you turn TC off) no matter how long you hold it for? And is there anyway to change this?

I've tried searching this and read through the manual again looking for an answer and it's starting to piss me off so if anyone can shed some light it'd be much apppreciated. Even if it's just a standard default that can't be changed.

I think this is what your looking for. When you first go into the step record page, just hit WINDOW. You'll see: Duration of recorded notes. You can select AS PLAYED or TC VALUE %: from 0 to 200. Hope that helps...
