16 levels not working

so aside from the problem where i can't switch from a drum track to a midi track, now my 16 levels button isn't working either.. doesn't even light up when pressed from the main screen.. and i tried this with akai os, jjos free, and jjos 1 and its the same with all of them... this seems impossible.. did i just buy the world's most **** mpc?

Hardware issue. Probably shorting out internally somewhere. Return it if it's new, otherwise you could try opening it up and checking for loose/broken connections etc.

thanks for the help. i was afraid thats what it may be. i'm planning on replacing the board with the main buttons and data wheel encoder anyway... would you think that would fix the issue?

No way to tell really. You'll just have to dive in there and look.
