Hello all,

Sorry i'm new here. . . and thinking about buying an MPC 1000. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it was possible to edit a samples start and end points via midi? ( while it's being triggered at the same time )

thanks!

External midi is pretty much limited to sync messages, sequence changes and note triggers. It looks like it's going to stay that way at least until a third version of the JJOS is released.

You might be able to use the non destructive chop feature in JJOS 2 to get sorta something like the effect you want but you would have to set up the triggers and loop points on the MPC before hand or use the qlinks etc.

Don't even bother thinking about Akai software, just don't....

woah, that's quite shocking actually. . . you'd expect that to be basic functionality. I've got the chance to get one of these reasonably cheap but i'm sure if it's going to be up my street.

Thanks for your responses.
