Delete memory

I have a small problem with my MPC1000.
¿How I can erase the information stored in the internal memory of the MPC?

I haven't tried to Delete it - I keep it there in case I need to do a quick demo of the MPC1000 and I have nothing else to hand.
But you can turn the Autoload function off, so the MPC1000 starts up with a clean memory: see manual Pg 83 bottom.

highlight the sequence with the cursor in the main screen, then WINDOW, then delete all... then MODE>PROGRAMS, highlight the program name at the top, Window>Delete All... then MODE>TRIM, highlight the Sample name at the top, Window>Delete All...

EDIT: nevermind, i thought you were asking about deleting the ram, I don't know about the internal memory, I haven't deleted mine.

What exactly happenes when you delete the RAM??Would'nt that delete the internal memory. I was also wondering if there is a way to delete files from the autoload folder

No, it dosn't delete the internal memory. To do that you have to overwrite it, not just delete it.

Yes, there is a very easy way of deleting files from the autoload folder: simply delete those files.

I will admit I am a newbie to the MPC. Hpow do you overwrite the files???I want to start from scratch and want me autoload file to just contain programs with no sequences. But, whenever I delete the sequences and turn the MPC on another time the sequences return.

OK, first thing to do is to turn off the autoload function. Follow those steps:
- go to the LOAD screen ( [MODE] ->[PAD3] )
- Plase cursor on the LOAD field, then press [WINDOW]
- select OFF in the AUTOLOAD field, and press [F4]
- turn off, turn on your MPC.

This was to turnoff the autoload for the internal memory. Now...you also have an autoload folder on your CF card. You cannot turn it off, but here is what you can do. Delete the content of the AUTOLOAD folder, and put into it, whatever you want to be loaded automaticaly. If you don't want anything to be loaded automatically, leave this folder empty, or delete the folder, or remove the CF card when you turn on your MPC.

This should solve your problem. But there is one more thing I have to add: Being a newbie does not excuse you from not reading the manual.
All the basic stuff is well expalined in the manual. You already paid for it, so you might as well read it
