Insuffeciant memory problem !

So we've had the mpc 1000 for a few months now but havent really explored it. I was watching some tutorials before on how to assign samples and ish but each time i try to extract or assign any sample ive recorded to the pads, it just comes up with "Insuffeciant memory !!!" From what i know, there isnt anything saved on there just the beats it came with and i had a good look. Help would be much appreciated.
