How do you actually download JJOS3???

Ok, I have my mpc-1000 with jjos2xl now that jjos3 is out I want to upgrade
But every time I click the download button on the jjos site for jjos3 I get a page of text
Jibberish instead of a file. please help me understand what I am doing wrong

The OS3 download button works fine here, on both Firefox and Chrome.

Try rebooting the computer maybe ?

No issues here, try a different browser to avoid whatever is getting garbled on the web side of things that resulted in the HTML error or whatever is happening to you when you attempt the download.

It even works with IE, which i NEVER use, but i tried it and it works.

Yeah...IE...

iLok's website has all kinds of issues, one of the rare times I have to push Mozilla to side and try IE. Even then it sometimes doesn't and then I try Chrome...

But yeah using a different browser is the thing to try if a download keeps having the same error. Also could try to uninstall the browser with the issue and reinstall, and see if it fixes the problem.

Shouldn't matter, use a different Browser, especially if this is Safari you're using, it's non web standard compliant trash.

Have this same problem with every os but the free one, got a mac and tried it with safari and firefox. They're coming out as document files instead of bin.

Try with Chrome.

I'm good now, figured it out.

Files coming up a text documents is nearly always an issue with the mime type is set on the web server. I just checked the headers on an OS3 file type of JJ's server and MIME type is output as 'text/plain', which isn't correct as it's really more of a compressed archive.

At this point some browsers may just look at the OS3 file extension, not recognise it as text and choose to just download it, others interpret this literally and rather than download it, they'll output it as text on screen. Safari is the most common browser to do this - I just checked and if I'm clicking the link, I'm getting text as well.

This is an easy thing for JJ to fix if he has access to the relevant permissions on his web server. I suspect he doesn't.

However the easy solution for you in Safari is to just right click and 'download linked file'
