So i already have the Motif XS rack. I have made a few beats with it, but IMO lacks some synths that i need.
So i went to the a music store and tried out the Roland Fantom X8, it was IMO pretty much the same as the motif i have.
I didnt listen to all the sounds it has.... so maybe im wrong..
But im not after a new keyboard though... so i found Fantom XR. I will maybe buy it but i was wondering if it is the same as the X8..? im guessing the XR is older than the X8? if it is the same i will then be saving money for the Virus snow soundmodul.

What do ya guys think?

yeah, go for the virus - or something that has a different type of synthsise than the motif/fantom. i think it's a good idea to get different types of sythesisers. they all sit differently in the mix and can cut through the sound nicely.

have you looked at the dave smith mofo? it's analogue, but only mono -- which is exaclty what you want for basslines. if that's what you're after.

I have seen it.. its the yellow one right?
Well im after multitimbral ones... I have also thought about Blowfield but again im after the Multitimbral:P
What sucks is that there is no stores here in norway where u can try out these soundmodules.. they all are behind glass...

get a juno 60 to start. get vintage stuff. I just avoid the new stuff. motif / fantom will sound like everything else now.
