Manipulating a Track

I am using a 500.

Is there a way to take the hits from different pads on a track, and put them onto separate tracks?

I want to be able to play the snare, hi hat, and kick on one track, live, then separate them out onto their own tracks. Can I do this?

copy the tracks, delete the parts you don't want.
