New to MPC's Looking to buy one

Yeah the 2000XL looks pretty good and big! I saw them going for about 500-600 on ebay, just as much as the MPC 500. Im still really debating, MPC 500, MPC 1000, or MPC 2000XL. I really don't know because from what I see that MPC 1000 looks pretty good, but I dont know if I'll be using all the features (Digital Outs, 4 Outs, Etc..) Seems pretty big too. Im looking for something that I can sit in front of my computer, but then again the MPC is limited to only 12 pads. Any suggestions for my situation. I can always upgrade to something bigger and better? Right?

the 1000 isnt big.. its still portable.. and yeah the 16 pads are better than 12

dude just do what im doin,,,,yeah i looked at all of the mpc's and i was super focused on the 2500 but since i dont have it like that i wiped the drool off my keys i went to ebay and searched mad hard for a good deal and i ended up with the 2000xl with max ram and external flash card reader,granted it was a little beat up,i could still use it the day i got it,except i didnt have a card for 420.00...now i fixed it all up and i bet if i put it up for bid i could get a cleavy little profit(probably keep it though because i put all the work into it),,,,but anyhow remember im still drooling over the 2500 so now i go back to ebay and find a broken mpc500 for 75 bux(now its not a gaurantee that its not fried but probably not)meaning i can fix it for fairly cheap,so my plans are to keep looking for broken ones and then fixing them,making a "slight" profit untill i can finnaly get the 2500...


in other words,,,start with whats in your budget and go from there.....

Yeah man. I feel like I should go for 500, then save up for 2000XL, and make it look nice. How did you get yours red? Im pretty technically inclined. I built a synthesizer a while back just a basic one to toy with. So I figure I could upgrade the 2000XL when I get in awhile? Anyway I think I should focus with the 500 and know how to sample, chop, and sequence tracks. Also Im saving up for a USB turntable rather than just a Phono that I currently have.

i did all the painting myself and had a vinyl shop screen print the lettering back on..

And for the dude thats stuck on which mpc to decide.. Get the 1000 is small, can sit right in front of ur cpu etc etc.. And with the jj os, its monster
