Hi all,

i have read the f**** manual, of the MPC 500 and surfed into the machine, but i could not find a way to
assign MIDI program numbers to a track, to be able to use different sounds of my digital piano (kawai MP5) for different tracks. The MIDI section of the manual is very thin... and does not give much information on the use as a MIDI sequencer...
Or did i miss something?

Is your Kawai capable of producing more then one sound at the time? If yes, it should be possible I say, if no, bad luck but you will need to sample ur Kawai.

If this does not make sense I am sorry, just had my first spliff

Thanks for the reply, and stay off the spliff if you dive into complex manuals like the one of the kawai MP5.....
anyway. i already found out hat the kawai has to be on multitimbral, and the MIDI setting local off (so that the midi goes through the MPC and back into the kawai. I managed to get two different sounds on to different channels by giving them MIDI channel 1 and 2...after a few hours of trying...mmm love MIDI
But is there no MIDI program change parameter on the MPC 500? oh no of course not, that would be too easy....
well i will try to work my way through the kawai manual.

read ya
