Hello, first, I have posted this theread on STUDIO ENVIRONMENTS and nobody answered to me since maybe the questions sounded to newbie´s. I have read all posts on this topic and searched for tutorials, and I can´t make this running.
My studio is a MPC 1000 ( jj os 4.99 so it has MMC MTC), Logic Pro, iMac G5 and a Fantom S.
FANTOM SET UP:
Midi synch: slave MMC: Slave
MIDI OUT to MPC´s midi IN 1 ; MIDI IN to MIDI OUT´s A
MPC SET UP:
Synch mode: in (off) ; Synch out: A(master); MMC: ON; Mode: MIDI TIME CODE Frame rate:25
MPC´s MIDI IN 2 to audio firewire PRESONUS interface´s MIDI IN ( yes, in,otherwise, I can´t play LOGIC´S sounds on MPC..tried the other way already)
MPC´s MIDI OUT B to audio´s firewire PRESONUS´S MIDI OUT ( yes, out...otherwise, I can´t play LOGIC´s sounds on MPC)
LOGIC SET UP:
Following a video of how to set up LOGIC PRO 8, FANTOM G and a MPC2500 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skr9ayp8jpc) which is quite good, I did the following:
New project> create 16 isntrument tracks>create 4 audio stereo tracks>
Window>environment>scroll down clic and ports>click 2 new transformers> drag line from sum to transformer 1> drag line from transformer 1 to transformer 2 and the from this to sequencer input
Click on 1st transformerz>scroll down filter matching events> mode: status =>note: control>all: => o to 10
Do the same with the second transformer but, instead, 0 to 7
Open mixer>create groups> uncheck mute, automatization and volume> check enable recording> type MPC in the box
Click on inst1> assign channel 1B for that channel
RESULTS:
1- I CAN PLAY LOGIC SOUNDS ON MPC´S 1-16B
2- I CAN PLAY LOGIC SOUNDS ON FANTOM 1-16B
3- I CAN PLAY FANTOM SOUNDS ON FANTOM 1-16A
PROBLEMS:
1-WHEN I PRESS RECORD ON THE MPC, LOGIC DOES NOT START RECORDING AND VICEVERSA. So MPC is not the master!
2-WHEN I PRESS RECORD ON LOGIC ( SAY LOGIC´S CHANNEL 1 SINCE I JUST WANT TO RECORD THE HI-HAT FROM MPC´S CHANNEL 1A), THE METRONOME´S SOUND IS A SOUND FROM A MPC PAD…AND IT´S RECORDED.
3-WHEN I PRESS RECORD ON LOGIC, MPC DOES NOT START PLAYING ITS SOUNDS. So LOGIC is not the master either!
OK, if you can help me...gracias!
Thanks
Paola
