i have a question on the mpc 5000

whats up i have a rather simple question
on my mpc 5000 when i have a sample on one of the pads
when i press the pad when recording it plays the sample all the way thru
how can i set the pad so it only plays the sample as long as im pressing on the pad
can someone help me out

from the 1000 manual, i'm sure it'll apply to the 5000

In the SAMPLE page of the PROGRAM mode...

ONE SHOT The MPC1000 plays the sample until the end regardless of how long you hold the pad.
NOTE ON The MPC1000 plays the sample only while you hold the pad.
