I want to use the MPC 500 for playing samples during sessions, especially ambiental samples that add more of a feeling and effect rather than percussive stuff, like a fire crackling or birds flying and stuff like that. I edit the samples on the MPC to make them more interesting and less ordinary-sounding, but the effects and the other editing possibilities don't really satisfy me completely. My question is if any of you know of some freeware stuff or similar that works well for adding effects and editing samples on a computer for loading them on to the MPC later?
