recording or tracking out mpc beats to logic pro 8

recording or tracking out mpc beats to logic pro 8

i have my mpc 2000xl hooked up to my macbook using logic pro 8. i have everything midied up (i think). i can hear the beat i made on the mpc in logic but i do not see the wave pattern on the track in logic. i guess logic is just playing the beat i made in stead of recording into logic.

how do i do this? i have searched the depths of the internet for this answer and cant find it. maybe it has looked me in the eyes a couple times but i cant recognize it.

help a dood out and be as specific as possible. i guess this is pretty much a logic question.

You need to be more "specific" with your description of your problem, your setup, connections, settings and gear.

it sounds like you dont have your tracked armed and ready to record. i dont have logic, but it sounds like to me that your not actually recording anything, your just previewing it. maybe try arming the track inside logic and it'll record it.

i have my macbook (10.5) hooked up to the mpc by the midi sport uno. the uno is going to the midi in of the the 2000xl. i have the "sync in" of the mpc set to MTC. the track is armed in logic. logic will play the beat when i press play on the transporter but its not recording the beat. no midi wav file is being produced on the track.

And do you have the mpc inputs routed to the armed track so it can record the audio?

Midi, you cannot hear it. It's data.
