HELP!! i just made a hot song but didnt seperate the kick on

track 1, and snare on track 2 .. think i made a grave mistake its just much easier to play this way for my creativity like an actual drummer with no quantize sometimes


everythings all on 1 track.. my kicks and snares its a complex pattern and now im ready to edit the SNARE so i can make it sound melodic one with a fast attack the other with a long release

im ready to transfer it to my daw so i can do some further mixing in my drums using sonar and my plug ins...

what can i do in this situation.. do i really have to write down ALL of when my snares strike the time.. the Duration, the velocity, pad # for each snare ? =/
or is there a way i can just transfer them over to an empty track?? i have a 4k

I dont have a 4k but the concept may be the same. Just copy track one a bunch of times then go into each copy and erase the other sounds off it untill you have one sound per track. If that makes any sense to you

im sorry but for me sometimes my drums some doper when i just have all my stuff laid out on one track.. with a kick pad 6 and a snare/clap/snap on pad 7 sometimes =)

Are you layering the snare/clap/snap?

there's also a MOVE function in the SEQ EDIT screen that should be able to do this

A lot of people dont know about that function. I was gonna say that but I wasnt sure if the 4k had it too. "Move" is the easiest way if you have it on the 4k

so how do you use that move function in the grid screen (seq edit)

basically find the Pad #/Note and hold shift highlight the whole row across is that how you guys do it? (pardon me )
