JJ OS 3.08, New User, Kinda Overwhelmed...

Let me start off by saying I'm sure there is a plethora of information on this site, and I know I have only began to scratch the surface. Now, on to my situation... My girlfriend ordered me a MPC 1000 off Ebay for an early Christmas present. I know, right? Great. It has JJ OS 3.08 installed on it and didn't come with a manual or anything, so I have been kinda playing it by ear. My problem is when I hit mode, load, and load all samples or just try loading specific samples to pads, when I go back into main mode and try to play the pads no sounds emerge? I'm using a headphone jack if that makes any difference. Thanks guys.

Hi everyone..I need some help..I might just be stupid but I have looked everywhere on the net and can't find an answer. I have just bought a 2500 and it came with jj os 3.08. I used it for a day and then switched it over to the Akai OS because I just couldn't figure out the direct record mode, which is why I bought this MPC because I want to do a lot of direct recording.

I downloaded the JJ OS manual but there is no way the manual relates to the machine and I can't get it to work? Is there anybody here who can explain how to do direct recording in JJ OS 3.08?

After having used the jj system and the akai one I feel I need to switch back to JJ because it is so much easier to use in the sampling and edit side..much faster and more logical.

please help..this Akai MPC has been life changing, I've only had it 3 days and I will NEVER go back to making music with a computer again.
