Okay so I think I've got everything...

well i have been gone on break and just got back to my MPC 2000XL that i just recently got. i haven't had the chance to try it out yet, but it's supposely upgraded to 32MB i believe. and i had somebody tell me to get the 1.14 OS version since the version on mine right now is 1.07, so i downloaded the 1.14 OS version and put the file onto a floppy disk so that I can load it into the 2000. how do i go about installing the latest OS version into the MPC 2000XL? i also got a grip of ZIP disks in the mail, so can i get started sampling on this beast now? i am also a user of the SP404 and would like to use those 2 together - how do i hook the 404 up to it? (i will try searching for that right now actually)

ps- i do not have any ZIP drive for the disks. i believe the 2000XL has a built in ZIP drive, am i correct?

all Im gonna say is one step at a time, seems you dont know how to use the xl yet but you tryna hook up the 404 to it already, what good is it when you got it hooked up and working and ya dont know how to use it

Not all 2000XLs have a ZIP drive installed -- some have floppies, some have card readers.

I am reading the **** manual. I would just like to know how to set up the 404 so that I can do some trial and error learning, nothing wrong with that.

How do I know if it has a ZIP drive installed in it or not...?

well i guess i need the ZIP drive then. any recommendations? do i just buy the ZIP drive that's USB powered or what? is it worth it to just go for CF instead? how many 100MB ZIP disks are equal to 1MB CF card?
