Connecting MPC500 with XioSynth

Hallo.

I have never before used an mpc or a hardwear synth so please explain in simple terms, thank you.

What I want to do is connect these two machines, but i'm not sure do i need any extra cables, and what type do I need USB or midi or something?

isnt there a diagram in mpc's user manual showing exactly how to do that ?


what are you trying to accomplish, do you know how to setup your mpc for that ?

Why buy a MPC when you don't know how to use it?

If the choice is between MIDI and USB it will be MIDI. The USB port is only for data trasfer to/from a host (such as a mac or pc).

if reading aint your thing there is trillion youtube videos on the subject but that's too hard to figure out too...

well, the bad thing with the novation xiosynth is that you CAN'T connect it with the mpc500 the way you really would want to (the mpc playing and recording the internal sounds of the xio) as it has no midi IN. It has a midi OUT so the xio can play the mpc500's sounds but there's no point with that as I see it....

I love the xio's "rubbery" keyboard so I'd love to see an updated xio 25 without a soundcard but with a full set up of midi connectors!

a keyboard with midi out but no midi in? you might want to vist the regretful purchases thread.
