After you format a zip disk in the 2000xl....

PC cannot read mpc formatted correctly and will cut short any names longer than 8 characters and you will have problems.
mpc cannot find correct names anymore even though you have the same sample just pc cut name. mpc aps and all remembers the old saved names and that's what it looks for.

I'm on 1.14 and my mcd is fine. I use 512mb cards only.

This has all been said MANY times before, u should search.

Anyway, format exclusively in pc via fat. Stick to 8 character filenames.
That's what I did when I used to have a floppy drive in my 2kxlse2 (orange, same as you but original red/white pads.
BTW, red/white pads, WAAAAYYY softer than 4k original black pads, it's severely phucking with my timing, HEAVILY.....)

I had swapped the floppy to internal zip, also had a usb zip for computer and I did the same thing.
Format zips on pc via fat. Stiuck with 8character filenames and ey'thang was gravy.

THEN, went to atapi 6 in 1 MCD, same shyt again, formatted all my cf's in pc via fat.
STAYED with the 8 character filenames and thangs STILL tasted like gravy.

Never had a problem, never went to os120. Stayed on 114 cause I don't use 1gb cf's.
Some mcd's require os120 but not all. 1gb cards require os120.

I usually try and stay at 25word replies, but dammit man. I've been messing up lately. Back to 25, maybe 30.
