recording to pro tools with midi interface

Hi!
I have a question for u cause i have an mpc 1000 with an m-box that comes with pro tools and I want to record my beats on the mpc1000 to pro tools, I bought a midi interface(1in 2outs) to sync the mpc1000 to pro tools. But how do I go about doing this.
Do i have to change settings on the mpc and pro tools If so what do i change, and do i record on midi tracks or audio tracks in pro tools.
I managed to sync the two but when i tried recording i just got a flat line going, therefore no sound was being recorded

I'm not on protools but maybe i can help you out a bit.
1. You want record AUDIO into protools, not midi. So your need to hook up a pair of audiocables into your Mbox, and arm an audiotrack for record in ProTools before recording.
2. The midicables are just there to transfer the sync signal for now.
