Hey everyone, I've been looking through this forum for quite a long time now. Now that it's getting closer to me getting an MPC, i made an account and have been looking at this forum more often. I've come down to choosing either an MPC2000xl or an MPC2500. Now at the moment I am leaning towards the XL, because the majority of the time, all i hear about the 2500 is negative, and the only negative things about the 2000xl (not being as fast, etc.) don't seem that bad compared to all the bad things the 2500 has. Now if anyone has anything they could say that would help me in making a final decision, then please do. If i can get proven that the 2500 is worth it, I might wait longer for that, but if not I can grab an XL in about a week or two. Not sure if this is the right section to post this in, but if it can be moved? then that's cool too.
Thanks in advance

used an XL before the 2500, night and day difference
the XL just collected dust after installing JJOS on the 2500, eventually sold it

Wow that's awesome. Do you have any idea why other ones would have such problems? I always see that the pads die out, or that it is always crashing, etc. I'd also want to add, that i'd be buying these off Ebay, if that makes any difference, or if there are any tips I should look for. For the 2000xl i've been looking for fully loaded ones, and for the 2500 same thing, especially with the jjos

A good friend has a 2000xl and he's happy with it. But he likes the newer ones because of CD/DVD, built in HD, more ram, card reader, more built in fx.....
Both are great, whatever one YOU WANT to make music on will be the one that works best for you. :)

To make a good decision would mean you'd need to thoroughly weigh the pros and cons.

The 2500 owns the XL in almost every department. The build quality is not as good and the jog dial is a joke, but it is a far better equipped machine in other areas. JJ is just the icing on the cake.
