Connect VSTi's with MPC

Whatsup!

I've got a question for yall guys
I've been working with fruityloops for a couple of years (i know i know ) but now its time for some real production with the MPC.

My setup for the last couple of years: FL Studio, M-Audio keystation 61es (that's all)
I've been using alot of vst instruments that i would play directly from my M-audio midi controller.

My question is.... is it possible for me to hookup the midi controller somehow to FL Studio AND my MPC so i could still record my VSTi's directly into my MPC, you know what it mean? So i still maintain all of my VST sounds but just use the MPC as a master instead of FL Studio.

If anyone could confirm this IS possible, im gettin my MPC this week!!

its a hassle to try and record your vsts directly into your mpc.. you can use your mp as the master sequencer and have it trigger your vst and record them in your DAW.. yes its possible.. im not familiar with FL enough to tell you how to do it.. but i use Reason as sound module on the regular.. so yes people do this type of thing all the time..

if your new to midi its gonna be hell to figure out but once you get it its really easy to get everything midi'd up correctly..

Yeah, controller to mpc to your daw.

If you absolutely MUST record your vstis into your mpc, do it as audio tracks, then your track mutes will work in real time, and your parts will stay lined up.

OR

In FL, create your riffs as usual, then export the loops one at a time into a folder on your mpc, then load those as audio tracks into the mpc. The things that suck about that is that your vstis are now frozen in time, you can't tweak any settings anymore, and using track mutes for arrangements in this fashion doesn't give a very natural sounding decay.

Grab Reaper, and use IT as your vst host, not FL. Then, when you're ready to lay a track down, you merely hit record! (syncing comes later)

FL is grrrreat at what it does. In fact, it is a whole lot more powerful at manipulating sounds than the MPC. However, there is apparently an evil demon keeping it from being a good "sound module." Every time I tried this, it made me want to hurt animals.

Hook that to your mpc and computer, and run your keyboard's MIDI out to your mpc. Trust us that's the way to go.

Midi out from you controller to midi in MPC and the midi out MPC to you audio interface midi in. Don't forget to change the out to midi for a pad in your MPC and also do proper Midi syncing.

This way you can control you vsts with your and MPC and use the MPC sequencer.

I have a mini moog, yet i love fls vst's . Fl is way more powerfull than people give credit for. Poizone is the truth! Toxic biohazard is sick to. I do agree with the "stuck in limbo" . In all honesty just let you mpc loop ans record your synths in fl so you can tweek settings untill happy. Then put it in your mpc so you can put on the proper sequence. I do stuff in reason and fl and the mini moog, that they all wnd up in the mpc. I like one unit using its own limits and swing and timing correction. Just me. There is no right way. But i like my finished work going from mpc to pro tools for tracking.

Most of the synths in FL are available as vstis. I keep FL around, as it's highly useful for a lot of stuff. I actually prefer FL for sample-based beats. I rocked FL for years before I could afford an MPC. The thing is, about the MPC, is that sequencer.

Even though I have much much more control over my drum sounds in FL, the MPC's sequencer is the truth. Much more musically inspiring.

Maybe someone could post up a good tutorial on using FL as a sound module, and integrating it into your DAW. Then I might try again. All the youtube videos I found on the subject are garbage.
