imma be real, im new to da game... but i made a couple of beats and they sounds coo. but i wanna start organizing my sounds. and honestly i dont kno wut da real difference is between kicks, snares, hi hats, etc. can somebody drop some knowledge on me and let me the difference from all da sounds and names for em. like how does each one sounds... cuz when i make beats i jus use wut i think sounds good. let me kno yall. thanks.

Kinda hard to explain on the net, but here it goes.

A kick drum is going to sound like your foot banging against a wooden desk. It's a low sounding drum.

A tom drum comes in many different sizes, but usually sounds like a stick hitting a 5 gallon bucket upside down.

A snare drum is like a popping sound. Almost like a clap.

A high hat is a high, tinny sound. Like banging a fork on a soup can.


That's the basics.
