help with RAM installation

i bought a 128MB RAM card and installed it no problem. but every time i start up my mpc it does a memory check with pass 1,2,3 &4. it takes like 5 minutes to complete. is this supposed to happen every time i turn it on? its just a pain in the ass...takes forever.

you mightve installed it wrong?

or your unit may be defective, i would try taking it out and putting it back in and seeing if that helps.

if it doesnt, you might have to send it in.
