Walking a different path

Hi,Hello,What's up. Just joined the community here with hopes of gaining knowledge on these big-box,caculator-looking things they call MPC's--alright,i'm done playing around.

I currently have a Macbook/Reason setup. I am going to speed this up here because i know no one has enough attention span/patience these days. Let's just say that the above setup i am using is just not for me anymore--i am bored with it. A good friend of mine has an MPC3K,i held the thing down for awhile,while he was out of the country,and to the point--i loved the thing.

I am looking to just use Reason as a Sound Mod,and just sample/sequence in the MP,or maybe build some quick 1-2 bar loops and dump them in Reason--whatever..i am sure there are endless possibilities. Hopefully i can build with some people on here who are on the same road. Peace.

What type of MPC do you have?
I am a HEAVY Reason user. It IS one of the best sound mods in the world!

I don't have...that's why i'm here brother,to find out what would be best suited for use with Reason. My boy has an MP and i tinkered with it a bit and loved it.

well all mpc's are midi capable so they would all work, stay away from 2xl's, love me but you'll have screen issues soon enough, the 1k with pad upgrade and the JJ os, is a beast for like 300-400 on ebay, the 3000 is a legacy model, aka classic but lacks in current technology, the down side for the 1k is it doesn't not have full MMC, which can be ****, the 4000 is king but pricey, and the 2500 with jj is a bigger 1000 physically and has MMC. either way reason can be very usefull when ran properly with any mp, just gotta decide what you want that MPC to do and sound, then compare in the previous comparison threads in this forum

Right on. I just like sampling. And the sequencing capabilities from what i have seen thus far are tight. I saw a you-tube vid of the chop-shop feature on that 2500--i like that.

If you do go with a 2500 or 1000, which i would, IMO. Make sure to get the aftermarket operating system, i would say 98 percent of us run it on our machines and wouldn't go back to akai's, just google jjos and you'll see the link
