General Questions About The MPC5000!

Whats up everybody! Sajjk Productions here.
I am getting the MPC5000 in a couple of days and i have some questions.

Can i hook it up to my Axiom 25 to lay piano,base and stuff like that?
Ive seen people hooking it up to Logic? Why do they do that?
