I have checked the manual but all it says is to sync the external clock to your DAW [In my case it is CUBASE SX]. What is doesnt tell me is what that actually means or how to do it!

Can anyone help me understand how to go about doing it??

Appreciate any help,

Shakey

okay idk anything about the mpd32 but syncing is pretty much the same with all gear.

You have to have CUBASE "sending" either MIDI TIME CODE or MIDI CLOCK. For tracking my 2000xl into Logic Studio... I use MIDI CLOCK with "song position pointer" this lets the mpc know what bar you're on in the DAW. SO..... Make sure cubase is transmiting one of the time codes TO the MPD... sometimes you can just have it clock to ALL or just an individual device.

You also have to have the MPD recieving time code. on the 2000xl you go into MIDI/SYNC, then select the midi port you are receiving on. Also have to make sure the Frame rates are the same if you are using MIDI TIME CODE... you can use 25, 30, 30 Dropframe, 29.97.... These are all standardized by video and film formats and frame transfer standards. I just use plain old 30 frames. (30fps)

That's about it. Let me know how it goes.
