But I'm thinkin bout gettin a Spirit by Soundcraft M-12 mixer. But my question is... is dat a possible set-up? Havin dat da MPC1000, ASR-10 connected to da mixer... then hav da mixer connected to pro tools to record into?

Possible? That's a great idea, with a mixer you can hook up external FX to process your sound with.

I don't know that exact mixer, so someone might tell you to get a different mixer: I would suggest you make a list of the features you want, do a little research if you don't know what a feature does, and stick to your budget.

no doubt get the digi002... you'll soon regret if you buy the mbox cause it only has two ins and outs. you won't really be able to mix down on the mixer unless you use the internal one and then output the master on the stereo channel. you'll quickly find you want to mix down on more than two tracks and like I always say. If you are persuaded you love music and no doubt you do, spend a couple extra bucks in the first place cause in 6 months you'll regret not having spend that little bit more to have more options.

peace
