Hi Everyone,

I'm having some difficulty with Akai LPD8 right away on the installation. - I installed the driver from their website (I can't find my CD, Lost somewhere in the house). and this is the steps I did:

1. Installed the Driver I downloaded from the AKAI Site
2. Pluged the AKA LPD8 Contoller (Recognized - Notification)
3. I run the LPD8 Editor Software
4. a Small box opened. such as this: http://i30.tinypic.com/xfbu3n.jpg
5. As you see in the small box, the LPD8 is not there.

So What I need to do? - Please help me - I have an a show/live next week and it's all got crazy.
On the way, please if someone can explain me also HOW TO CONNECT - LPD8 to ALBETON LIVE
Because I did it once and I berly remember and I also kinda remember that I need to copy a file to
abelton library or something and - I don't even see it there on the drop box to choose.

PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME THANK YOU SO MUCH!

in ableton's options, go to the midi setting page and where it says midi in, pick the akai controller... or choose generic controller and assign the buttons manually. I think your picture is showing the available options for MIDI OUT, which is not of importance since your controller will be providing midi info IN to your computer.

Thank you "mr_debauch" for your comment.

It will help me when I will figure out how to actually work out the first problem. because I can't select the LPD8. and I install again and again, and Nothing. same. And I read somewhere that it may not appier as LPD8 name so it will be another. but yet. I can't even load a preset and have the successful message when you load it. - PLEASE HELP ME - PLEASE !!!!

I am having exactly the same problem. The LPD8 is not being recognised as a MIDI input device either in the LPD8 editor or any of the DAWs I have used ie Reaper, Energy XT or Sonar 7 Home Studio. According to the LPD8 instructions, in the drop down for the MIDI input devices it should show as USB Audio Device for windows XP users, however, this is not shown when I try it.

I have downloaded and installed the drivers from the CD and everything went fine with that. The LPD8 shows in the control panel device manager.

Anyone got any ideas?

No replies but I have solved the problem now with help from Akai. It wasn't a driver installation or software set up problem, but was due to an incompatability with Logitec webcam software/drivers. After I removed these everything worked OK.

Hope this helps anyone else having trouble.
