keyboard midi'd to mpc.

mpc is master clock/sequencer.

audio of both machines going to a mixer/audio interface.

This is all very normal. why don't you recognize this?

thanks 4 reply..i dont know that much about setting up the mpc to instruments..for example ive been recording audio as samples n doinit that way.. i have midi cables n audio and a mixer but i can get the metronome to work or mpc to record the audio with the midi.. ive asked around but it just seems like im goin in a circle..but my beatz is fire i just didnt go to school n learnin on my own ya kno

yo ima try this again maybe i did it wrong, but midi to mpc only not handshake? audio from both to mixer, but how can i record the keyboard on mpc, or do i need software or recorder?

ay bra thankz a mil i figure it out..it was basic stuff 2 just had to play around alil more with the midi settings..when i put these tracks up ill senda link, peace

midi and audio are not the same.

audio is recorded in your computer daw
midi is recorded in your master sequencer, the thing that is master clock.

In my example above the master clock was the mpc, so midi (recorded performance data NOT audio) was recorded in mpc sequencer.

Once you get your head around midi basics you will kick yourself for not knowing this, lol. It's so simple. audio is not transmitted via midi cable just so you know.

audio from machines go to your daw

midi all goes to the master clck machine and is recorded in that machines sequencer.
midi is in it's most basic form, the notes you hit, volume, pan and knob/fader information but NOT the actual audio.

AND, do yourself a phuckin favor and stop watching what others do via these youtube videos.
They explain nothing while making newbies wonder what the hell is going on and confusing you further.

Get into your manuals, READ more about your machine and actually DO the actions you read about while making beats, you have the machine in your hands, push some goddamn buttons! :lol:

iight i read the links they were helpful but i still cant figure this out.. i understand what midi n audio is i just cant get the mo6 to follow the mpc clock..on the mo6 i tried setting it to midi n to mtc but nothing, n internal just follows the mo6 clock.. on the mpc i have a midi track set to a1 which the midis r also plugged into.. i also set the a1 setting in sync mode.. ?.. is there a way i can post a pic of my setup?

i have melodies on a keyboard/sequencer i want to add to separate tracks on the mpc without trimming n looping lika sample, so i can add drums to them.. i will post a couple pix

u mean midi and audio simultaneously? MPC1000 can't do that.
