MPC & Protools Question

YO whats up guys?

question regarding my mpc500 and protools...

so i have a fast track pro, i was going to invest in the full version of protools m-powered 7...but they are discontinued and the frankly the fast track pro is garbage.

all im trying to do is record my mpc 500 into protools to improve quality and sound.

im tired of not having anything to improve my sound quality for mpc 500, as i just save my song on the mpc, save it on the mpc hard drive, and export it via usb wav file onto my computer. (doing various eq and slight mastering capabilities the mpc500 offers on its internal)

my actual QUESTION is :

a good friend told me a good idea was to leave out the fast track pro,

and instead connect the mpc to a midi-to-usb cable, then the usb into my computer (aka protools

do you think this would be possible?

i dont want to invest in protools/an external hard drive/the midi to usb cable if the actual way im thinking i can do this isnt correct/not possible

im basically just looking to record the mpc into protools for improved sound quality etc.

MIDI to USB isnt going to work for you.

Also, regarding quality. Forget about the theory that putting it in a DAW will automatically improve quality. Go back a bit further in the signal. Start at the samples. First you make sure that you get the best versions of your samples. So if you have all downloaded, MP3 samples in your beats, you've already limited yourself. Those same exact samples in a better format will show INSTANT results. Once you got the quality samples make sure you have the right sound. What I mean is, you can have two snare samples, both great quality, but only one may work as far as the actual beat is concerned. A lot of guys confuse poor sound selection with poor quality.

Now lets talk about getting it into the computer, you're going to want the to use the interface being that I dont think the whole MIDI to USB concept will work. Set your gear up to be synced via MIDI and you can track out your beat in PT. Or you can perfect it in the MPC then all you would be doing is tweaking.

I've been making beats for about 3 or so years now, and honestly i think i have made the beats as best as i can inside of the mpc without using any DAW's/mixers etc....that goes for drums, the choice of drums, samples etc.... the thing is, i can only make the beat so loud and good enough quality that if i put it any louder, the mpc 500 basically starts being distorted, and its like it cant handle the bass, basically

what do you mean by that? because it sounds like thats exactly what im asking

i dont have any "gear" besides my mpc and my fast track pro

how would i set my "gear" (and not sure what you mean by gear) up to be synced via midi?

/why so sure the usb to midi wont work for me man?

really like to get this working somehow with what i've got..
