mapping samples to keys, 2000xl

mapping samples to keys, 2000xl

Can the mpc200xl automatically map a sample to notes playable by a midi keyboard, for example i load a sample of a C note and map the sample, then i press D on my keyboard and it will play the sample but with the correct pitch so its a D note, and so on. can the 2000xl do this?

Yep....Auto chromatic assignment...Its in your manual p.117. Even better, do a search. Its been discussed quite a bit recently

i havent got a manual becaues i dont have an mpc. (sorry if im not meant to be here unless i have one)
im just deciding between buying the 1000 and 2000xl rite now
