Pads(sensitivity)

got an older version akai1000(red/blue) how can i tell if there is the pad upgrade done to it or just the fat pads put on...also is there a way to adjust the volume sensitivity with the pads it seems like im having to hit way to hard to get a good sound

did it come with the fat pads installed? 'cause the fat pads can ONLY be installed if it has the pad upgrade...

and the pad sensitivity can be adjusted by pressing MODE + PAD10 and going to where it says PAD.

if all else fails and you wanna get busy on your MPC, just turn on the FULL LEVEL and bang away...
