i currenlty have an mpc 2000 xl, ipod, macbook, cheap headphones, cheap cables, jacks, and a few floppy disks.
been taking sounds from the songs on my ipod and playing about and i think its time to get some new stuff.

my questions :
what are the differences between technics 1200 and 1210? is it better to scratch on 1200?
where can i get an external scsi device online and if not online in the UK?
what is a preamp? do i need one? and what exactly is a mixer? should i get vestax pmc 05?
ive seen a few people who own an mpc also own an akai dps12 ? what are they? do i need one?
cables? what are some good ones? or are they all the same?
how do i turn a song ive made on the mpc into an mp3? cable from mixer to audio in laptop? and record with something?
what speakers or headphones should i use with an mpc 2000 xl?
akai S-series samplers. what are they?

google is your friend, homie... you got a lot of research to do. and by research i don't mean asking on another forum.

that's just the thing... i could take a half hour of my time to type up 8 paragraphs to answer all your questions... but then that would just leave you wondering "so... what does THAT mean?"...

google has your answers. if you don't understand something, then google that additional something you don't understand. maybe youtube will help... i dunno.

but facts like the difference between a technics 1200 and 1210 or what a preamp is, etc... are NOT hard to find.

Pure truth right here, and if not google then YouTube and someone will show you what it is and how it works. I also think you would greatly benefit from reading basic articles on how to produce music and how to set up a workspace which will lend itself to questions like "what headphones/speakers". I guarentee all these topics have been discussed in depth on the forums as well. I also highly recommend reading the akai 2000xl manual cover to cover in your free time.

1210 is black.

i would recommend focusing on one thing at a time. you just asked about a mpcs, s-series, turntables, cables, speakers, recorders and mixers all at once.

learn about turntables first then go from there.

^^sorry, I don't think so in this case.

In this case (this goes to the OP) you should focus on getting the best out of the gear you already have. Are your beats FIRE?? No? Then it takes another round of practise on your MPC, choice of samples etc but you don't need more gear.

peace

Ebay, MPC Stuff, a few other. Google... (I know, I know)

what is a preamp? do i need one? and what exactly is a mixer? should i get vestax pmc 05?

Raises the signal level of a condensor mic (w/mic preamp) or a turntable (w/phono preamp) to 'line level'. The vestax (or any DJ mixer) will have a phono preamp built in. The vestax 05 is a fine mixer IMO.

ive seen a few people who own an mpc also own an akai dps12 ? what are they? do i need one?

A hard disk recorder to record your beats into individual audio tracks. It's old tech. No you don't need one - these days, most use a computer with an audio interface and DAW.
how do i turn a song ive made on the mpc into an mp3? cable from mixer to audio in laptop? and record with something?

See the last response. Search for DAW, and 'tracking audio' on Google

what speakers or headphones should i use with an mpc 2000 xl?

Whatever ones get good reviews within your budget.

akai S-series samplers. what are they?

Come on man.

Look, people will help you but seriously, do a little more work first and come back with something more specific. Are you actually saying you can't find out what an s series sampler is?
