Hi guys,

First off, I'm new here, so thanks in advance for any help you can offer. This is probably an extremely newb question.

I'm trying to sequence my synths (a minibrute SE and an MS2000) with my MPC1000 (w/ free jjos). However, when I try to record from a synth keyboard, it simultaneously triggers a drum sound on the program, because each key from the synth is also mapped to a pad.

How do I record the synths into the MPC sequence without triggering drum sounds from the pads?

welcome to the forums!

first make sure the track is in midi mode and not in drum mode.
second, either choose a blank program with no samples on it or turn program to "off" or to "no.1", as you only want to record midi or sequence data on that track.
(the no.1 option is great if you want to send program or bank change messages to the synths to tell them which sound to play, without the need to set this on the synth itself - very helpful for complex setups and songs and for recall purposes - if you use this you just have to load the sequence on the mpc and all your synths get switched to the right sounds like magic!)

have fun!

peace, jo
