Just Purchased a S3000.. gotta problem

all it says when i turn it on is "waiting for hard disc ready... skip" ..so i'm here mashing buttons and so on and nothing is hapening ..

On another note, does anyone know where i could find the manual? I'd be willing to trade something for it.
