Mini Mac, can I do everything with it

I was looking into that new mini mac. Does it have enough inputs and the right kinds of inputs to hook up everything I might have. Mixer, keyboard, future mpc, turntables...anything I might have, a mic.

would there be anything else I need?

You can't expect any computer to have all the ports to handle all your equipment inputs. You will of course still need an external interface in order to have some of your equipment connected.

One other problem, is that you can only maximize the mini to have 1 GB of RAM. That will probably be enough for basic recording.. but nothing too heavy.

The Mac Mini is really only to be cost effective for PC users switching to Mac.. but I guess its better than nothing.

yeah, I think you can also add USB ports to it.

But I was thinking, for producing and all that it would be perfect. You can listerally use it anywhere...

You could make a beat @ your house and take the whole harddrive to the studio.

You could make a beat on one computer in your house and bring it down to the other.

The hard drive capacity ranges from 40gb to 80gb. If you're going to be bringing tracks around to be worked on, I suggest you just get an external hard drive.

And... if you're looking for portability.. get a Powerbook instead.

If your worried about lack of ports get some hubs usb or firewire and you should be good.

Alright, so basically everyones saying that I can use it like anything else, its just a little limited in some areas.

I think I'll keep looking into it.

go to ya local apple store, and have a conversation with one of the workers who knows about these things, im sure there is, go to the west farms mall i know they got one there

They come in 2 diffr models..check this before u buy
