Step Sequencer problem since 3.9 - Bug or feature?

Heya!

I'm new into MPCs and finally got a Key 37 last week (3 days before they announced the G2 . I had lots of fun with it, especially playing around with the Step Sequencer.

Then came OS 3.9 and the Step Sequencer stopped playing sounds when in Pad Select. Usually I got a sound preview when hitting a pad, so i could choose the right pad/sound, now it stays silent. If you hit pad select, the pads light up, if you hit the pad it selects the pad, but doesn't play a sound as preview. No matter if a drum kit, plugin, no matter what bank, whatever. You can program the sounds in the sequencer and let them play, no problem, but no preview anymore. In every other Menu the pads work as intended and play the sound, but not in the sequencer in pad select.

Looked in every setting, deleted preferences, reinstalled 3.9 from PC, nothing helps. Thought about downgrading to 3.8 - yeah, Akai says no, no 3.8 to download on the website. Searched for known 3.9 bugs and in Reddit. I seem to be not the only one that experiences this problem, but it either doesn't seem to be common or no one cares, I have no idea.

For me the sound preview in pad select mode is a pretty important feature, so I ask myself if this is a bug, works as (newly) intended or if the problem is in front of the machine...

I was searching for this as well, it must be a "feature", but can't see how this is a benefit, l have the mpc live 1.

THIS IS DEFINITELY A BUG
In Pad select mode it should make a sound. In my case in PAD select mode there is even more buggy behavior - suddeenly sequences will disapear and reappear in the sequqncer. It looks like pads are selecting certain events like they do in grid mode and select those notes which then are presented as sequqnce. After some trying it also crashes my system, and stops pads from playing in MAIN mode, they play with delay.
