Okay, couldn't describe the problem accurate in the title but still I hope to get some feedback.
Hi, I'm a producer who made the switch from a daw (reason) to MPC (MPC one +, the red one not the g2). Safe to say I'm not really familiar with all the options this gives me so I came here to learn.
The problem I have is as follows : I recorded audio into the MPC, which currently sits in a drum track named drum 001 on pad 1. Then I open the sample edit menu to adjust the start- and endpoint to create a two bar loop. I'd like to preview this loop to see if it needs a fine tuning. I'm thinking that pad 16 was the pad to make that happen. Pressing pad 16 should play the two bar loop continuous is what I got from google (more than one source) but that pad behaviour is different on my MPC. When I press pad 16 it starts playback at the correct start point but it ignores the endpoint and plays all the way to the end of the recording and stops. I tried toggling the loop button on the screen in sample edit mode as well as in program edit mode, does not make a difference. In program mode I changed the one shot setting to note on but I don't know why that would make a difference. These are the suggestions made by google. Also there was talk about a playback button on the screen but I don't see that at all. The firmware says it is 3.9.1.
Anyone here who can point me in the right direction?
