I have an mpc1000 and I need some advice on how to filter out specific sounds from my samples. Where do I do this on the MPC and what sonds can be filtered out (eg. bass, vocals, hats etc.)?

you can filter anything, the way I do it is when I have a sample, I' looking for high frequency instruments like horn's, sax, and vocals. I get those, chop them and run them through a high pass filter, there are still going to be some artafacts from the sample but with a high pass set right it wont show up in the mix. I use the band pass fitler for the same above and just sounds where I need the high and low cut. For lowpass I use for low end theory. I have a sample where I like the bass line or just the bass notes, so I chop it filter it, add a little resonance, then use the 16 level function to make a bassline
