Why doesnt the MPC 1000 work with ak.sys??

Its got the USB link...

it reads wavs.

so why is the aksys program only usable with the Z4/Z8 and the MPC4000.

i remember with my z8 i could send a sample to wavelab in the PC an edit it on the fly with aksys . it was great!! something the MPC1000 could really do with aswell, given its lack of onbopard editing...

so how come you cant use aksys?? purely a marketing decision or is there a technical reason...

It's a technical reason based on a marketing decision. You can't expect to have the same functionalities on an 'entry-level' priced MPC as on the high-end MPC4K.
