how can i chop and trim a sample without losing my original sample

Copy it before you chop it up.

When you assign the loop to a pad you have to go in and zone(chop).Well,after you have entered your zone just assign it to another pad.I mean as in don't assign a chop to the pad the original sample is on.

I think that's what you mean right?

Actually, yeah, thats right. When you zone a sample each zone is saved in the ram but you need to go into the Program screen and assign each of the zones to the pads you want to use. The original sample stays in it's original form, though.

The zoning function also gives the option to automatically create a new program with all the different chops assigned automatically to pads.
