ProTools Tracking Question and MPC 1k

Thanks for all of the Tips this forum offers. This is my first post.

I'm trying to track my beats out of my MPC 1k into Protools. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have Midi Beat Clock enabled in PT and I use a Midi man 2X2 adapter. I have my midi sync in place on the 1k. However, when hit record in PT the 1k will play but nothing records. Please help!

You've mentioned the midi setup, what about the audio? You have to have the audio outputs connected to the inputs on your digi hardware. I/O setup in PT? Are you arming the track? There are a lot of step you could be missing, I could go into a step by step but it'd be easier for you just give a more detailed account of exactly how you have things setup.

I'm sorry I didn't mention that I have an Mbox. I thought if I'm doing a midi dump that I wouldn't need to come out of the one of the 4 outs on the 1k and into the Mbox. I have the track armed.

My gear:

G5 dual 2.0 Mac
Mbox
10 channel yamaha mixer
MPC 1k
Couple keyboards
Midi man 2x2 midi adapter

Oh and I forgot I have a stanton T80 turntable.

spdif or analog outs on your MPC or the outputs from your mixer need to be connected to the MBox to record.
