repedative beat

i just started making beats with my 2000xl and all my beats are repedative. how do i take out sounds when i want and put them in when i want. do i need a multi track recorder, or a software program. i want to have an intro to my beats instead of just a repeated sequence i know about track mute but u cant record with it. im a newbie holla back :

well you can make seperate sequences anytime you want to change something up. an easy way to do it is to copy sequence 1 onto the next sequence, then go and change anything you want about it.

Yup after you copy your sequence within the copied sequence just turn off the tracks you don't want in that sequence. And when you go to do your song choose how you want your sequences to play out.

Also what you can do is try more samples, sounds or whatever and change up the tempo on your sequences. Theres alot you can do the break things up.

you can make them into sequences.

make each sequence with a different beat, bars and/or adding new sounds. once you have done each sequence to tailor to your liking, you can piece these all together in the song function (shift+song). once you piece these all together, i can guarantee you that your beats will sound hot!!

also, when you record solely a sequence, try to change up the sounds and turn some kicks or snares off or on to make it sound differnt and give it a freestyle flowin' mixtape kind of flava.
